Some times drama serves a purpose, and I offer you this drama in defense of our community.

There is a forum to which not ever member has access. To qualify for access you must have been participating on the forum for a certain amount of time. Being granted access to this "secret forum" is achieved by election of the members who have access there already. If you have a "Manchurian Candidate" tag on your profile, you're up for election.

However, the rules by which such elections have been carried out are determined by administrative fiat and not the will of the users. In my opinion, this is unacceptable in a community which is dedicated to freedom such as ours.

As a result, I have voluntarily had my access to that forum revoked. It seems that forum is seen by the administrators as something to which they have the sole right to arbitrate the rules, which is unlike any other portion of this community.

I'll not be a part of that.

If you're dedicated to a community where the members of that community decide how things operate and the administration is there to simply carry out and enforce that collective will, I ask that you too renounce your membership in the "secret forum" and announce it in this thread.
