I think that belongs on the leg-less lizard thread Lex
John Key's is our's, I like him at moment, he hasn't been there long . . . . took over from Helen, she was scary. . . . but got have a look at the facts, they are starting out with a pile of shit. . . . so who know's. . . . but here there's been crap over a newly appointed staff member, Key's backed her up and said her personal life wouldn't effect her work, so she still got the job,it was just another media shit-stir to drag someone down. . . . so I was happy he didn't dump her :)
A weekend of fresh headlines about Christine Rankin meant Prime Minister John Key was always going to be asked after cabinet if she still had his support as a Families Commissioner.
And Ms Rankin herself has also gone on record about the circumstances surrounding the sudden death of a friend, whose husband she married three months later.
Ms Rankin was married for the fourth time last year to Kim MacIntyre, just three months after his former wife, Wellington Real estate agent Margo McAuley, took her own life.
She told Sunday the gossip and innuendo is incorrect.
"There was no affair, I stand by that, that is my integrity," Ms Rankin says. "There was no affair."
Ms Rankin was appointed by the Government as one of seven Families Commissioners last week.
But United Future leader Peter Dunne says the latest episode confirms his view that she must go.
Mr Key admits when Ms Rankin got the green light at last week's cabinet meeting, he knew nothing about the Rankin-Margo McAuley issue, but says it shouldn't be relevant.
Social Development Minister Paula Bennett knew about Ms Rankin's private life issues the week before her appointment was made public, but she never told Mr Key until the day after the appointment.
But Ms Rankin says none of it changes anything for her.
"I have a passion," she says. "It doesn't change any for her.
"I have a passion," she says. "It doesn't change any of that."
So Ms Rankin's not going anywhere and National is backing her to continue. However Mr Key says she must now focus on her new job.

"I am not an Athenian, nor a Greek, but a citizen of the world" - Socrates.
With that in mind, I refuse to call anyone, let alone that lying, corrupt, arrogant, ignorant, eurofederalist, Elite-serving cocksmoker Gordon 'Smilie' Brooooon, my leader/head of state/whatever.
Is he a twit though? Nah... he's a cunt.
