View Full Version : AmKon.net Rules Version 1.0 -- **READ BEFORE POSTING**

The old rules were posted while we were still hosted at freeforums.org (great site for a free forum btw). That being the case, some of the rules were written to conform with the rules of freeforums.org. This is the first official "rules" post for AmKon.net.
----------------------------------------------------------

Profanity - Profanity, when used with common sense, is acceptable here at AmKon. All that we ask is that you use it ONLY when appropriate (read: the mood strikes you right) and that you refrain from posting anything that might be considered a "profanity laced rant/other".

Courtesy - Courtesy toward your fellow members is absolutely mandatory. While many of us may disagree when it comes to any number of subjects that are discussed here, there is no reason for disrespecting another member. Anyone found to be doing so will be swiftly "dealt with".

However, we here at AmKon are all about fairness and taking care of the membership. If member "A" has been here for 6 months with no previous problems and they are provoked by member "B" ,who has been here for two weeks and has a history of being an assclown, consideration will be given to member "A" above member "B".

"Why?", you may ask. Because EVERYONE has their breaking point. Some of us here are more "tolerable" than others when it comes to trolls. I absolutely WILL NOT punish anyone who has proven themselves to be "upstanding" simply because they happen to 'set the troll straight' before I have the chance to do so.

While I very well might "own" AmKon.net, this site (in my eyes) belongs to EVERYONE who is an active contributor. Just because they might now have "admin" or "moderator" under their name does NOT mean that they don't deserve the same respect that you would show me.

"Questionable Content" - Anything containing profanity or "gore" is NOT to be posted at AmKon. While some people do enjoy looking at rotten.com or any of the billion porn sites, not everyone does and no one should have to click a link and suddenly be exposed to said content. Any RELEVANT war related imagery is acceptable as long as a warning is placed letting users know that the thread/post contains graphic images. In a case such as this, placing a text link to the images is probably the best route to choose.

"Pirated Software/Music" - I have no problem with members linking to a favorite torrent or p2p site/client. However, I do ask that no one place any "illegal" software on AmKon.net once the upload feature is implemented. As long as it is hosted offsite, AmKon is not liable. Please just make sure any links you post are not from any "private" torrent trackers. They tend to frown upon spreading their torrents around the net. Providing referrals or invites to them is, however, acceptable as long as you have the ability to do so and do it in an appropriate manner. (IE: Private Messaging/SPAM Forum)

Language - The primary language at AmKon.net is English. Please try to stick to it in the public forums. If you must speak to a fellow member in another language, please do it via PM. If enough members of other languages become members, I would be more than happy to provide them with their own forum if asked.

This rule doesn't apply to our Bitch. Gibberish is his tongue of choice and we respect that.

Solicitation - DO NOT DO IT! If you absolutely MUST try to talk someone into buying propecia or viagra online, take it elsewhere. You will be banned/deleted immediately if you are seen trying to profit off of the AmKon forums in such a manner as to bother the productive members. There is plenty of that crap elsewhere, we don't need it here.

Cross Posting - I have no problem with anyone cross posting any threads that they author to other sites. All I ask is that you provide links both ways. This isn't a requirement, just courtesy to each forum in question.

ATS deems it wrong for anyone to post a thread from there anywhere else. However, if you authored said thread, there is absolutely nothing they can do about it. Posting threads started by other users, however, might cause you problems and is probably best avoided. This really won't apply to anyone here as you guys/girls are all capable of writing some excellent threads (Check out the "all time most popular posts" on ATS for proof of this. We authored a good number of them.). This is more advice than anything else. Bill Irvine is a vengeful overlord.

Sounds good to me. Sorry, I didn't read this before I only recently massacred page eight of "Where the hell is everyone?". But if you read my posts I think you'll understand.

Now onward!

I would normally follow this requirement jasn and i have with the few threads that i have cross posted that i originally posted on ats.
But seeing as how AmKon is filtered at ATS i don't see any reason why i should need to add a link back to my original post on ATS if i can't add an Amkon link to a thread at ATS that i originally authored here.

Common courtesy, yes, but that courtesy is only common if it works both ways, and because of the filtering it doesn't.
I'll gladly add links to other sites that i might cross post on ie GLP, or GHMB, and vice versa but until ATS allows us to link to AmKon an originally authored post from here i think i will refrain from linking to ATS with threads i post here.

Hell did that make sense. Very early here and im as grumpy as fuck.

I understand you. I appreciate your kindness. Thanks for welcoming me, here. Lately, I've trying to get my friends to visit Amkon.net

I was invited to visit this website by someone nicknamed, **EDITED BY JASN TO PREVENT THE BANNING OF USER'S ACCOUNT** at AboveTopSecret.com (I passionately hate that website).

Before I quit using that website, I sent this message to one of my closest friends at AboveTopSecret.com (his name is Eric):

You can also catch up with me at the following websites (these are some of my favorite "conspiracy-realist websites"):

1. TruthBrigade.org (http://www.truthbrigade.org)
Forum: TruthBrigade.org/smf (http://www.truthbrigade.org/smf)
Note: Im a friend of the owner of that website (Christie), which is a fairly new website, but it's very well-made, and it has a great forum-section.

Please tell me what you think about it.

2. http://www.AmKon.Net (that's a very popular message board/forum-site with more than 4 graphic-interfaces (meaning: the colors & overall appearance of that site, can be changed by any member, who get's their request for membership accepted by the Admin of that website).

Note: I was invited to AmKon.net by a long-time member of ATS: "JUST EDITING THE NAME AGAIN TO PREVENT ANY TROUBLE FOR MEMBER" & John Lear (former-Conspiracy Master on ATS).

3. ConspiracyCentral.Info (http://www.ConspiracyCentral.Info)
Note: That's another highly-respected website & database of videos & classified information). I'm not sure if guests are still allowed to sign-up for a new account at that website, at this time, but if I'm willing to offer my username & password so you can access ConspiracyCentral.Info and participate in the discussions at that message board.

4. JackBloodForum (http://www.JackBloodForum.com)
Note: That's a very well-made message board. I'm an acquaintance of at least 2 of the moderators at that website).

Each administrators of all those websites seem very kind & open-minded, so I think they would appreciate the information that you share with this online-community on a daily basis.

you need to stop this BS thread derailing game.

you cant take the site and the conspiracy topics seriously, if everyone is not treating them with common courtesy.

there was one thread i was reading and about to post in but it had so much BS to derail it i just couldnt really be tossed posting there after that.

prime example was a thread that had about 3 pages of quotes to see how deep you can quote things.

as i say, theres no point posting a serious topic if the site is not taken seriously itself.

I agree. Outright forbidding it is not gonna do much but I think we all should be a little bit more conservative in our thread-derailings. Yes, I'm looking at you GN and BS

Perhaps refrain from purposely derailing threads.

Says another thread derailer.

That one thread in question -- it was getting really nasty unnecessarily, so we all (including BK) derailed it.

I think that the novelty has worn off. It was kind of like getting out of prison there for a while.

The actual conspiracy threads don't get derailed, it's mostly off topic stuff.

Funny.

I was behind a smaller SUV a few months ago and it had that bumper stick as well.
I had on of those blurty uncontrolled laughs escape my mouth.
I found it hilarious.
